— [Rachel Berry] got her first name because her gay dads were big Friends fans and last name because I went to school with a girl named Rachel Berry.

— Sam was a friend of Ryan's growing up and Evans is for Dwight Evans RF Boston Red Sox.

— And Mrs. Schuester was my fifth grade teacher. I don't remember her first name and ‘Will’ sounded earnest.

— One last one for now. Quinn is the daughter of a friend of mine. She's four. Don't remember where Fabray came from. Think [Glee writer] Ian [Brennan] made it up.
There you have it, Gleeks. We’re particularly excited to know that Rachel is named after Rachel from Friends. Also, the real-life Rachel Berry must be so jealous right now.
